A modern wooden chalet with a classic design
The traditional Finnish wooden house – or “rintamamiestalo” – is a design familiar to many Finns. It provided a solution to the post-war housing shortage. The gable-roofed house was designed to accommodate a single family in both rural and urban areas. These traditional houses were simple in form, practical, and economical.
The Tapanila 100 is a modernized traditional Finnish house that meets the needs of contemporary living. It’s more spacious, its materials are more energy-efficient, and its structure is more durable than in the traditional version.
This Scandinavian log home design offers a 100 m2 home with a combined living room and kitchen, a bedroom, and a bathroom–sauna on the ground floor. On the second floor, there are two bedrooms.
The design of the house can be adapted to individual needs. The prefabricated units of a PolarHouse thermal log cabin kit are manufactured in dry factory conditions and delivered to the building site as a complete, ready solution.
